Does Trump Have a Plan?

So yesterday, I hear that Trump has dumped the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) requirements for automobile manufacturers.

It all comes together. Trump rewards and supports big oil. Trump dismantles the EPA and starts a general challenge to environmental standards and regulations. Trump courts the Saudis like royalty .. oh wait … Trump argues against climate change and makes it part of his policies. Trump campaigns in the rust belt promising to bring back the jobs …

What does this mean? It points to Trump trying to roll the US back to 1965. Deregulate automotive, energy exploration and exploitation, and environmental protection policies and allow the auto industry to rebuild itself and go back to building 5 mpg Caddies… But that’s ok we’ll drill for more gas, deregulate OSHA so oil drilling is less costly due to less regulation, and more deadly, but hey, it’s a small price to pay.

The plan is almost crazy enough to work… But it won’t. Every part of this makes our world less clean, more dangerous, and shorter lived. Based on bad or no science and weird revisionist fantasies. But we’ll see. If he stays in the White House long enough, we’ll see how this develops.
